PRIMITIVES LICENSES SWEDISH EVERGREEN FORMAT ON THE RIGHT TRACK TO SLOVAKIA

news
The format is On The Right Track to STVR!

Primitives, the Belgium-headquartered specialist TV formats distributor, has announced a brand new territory breakthrough for Friday night entertainment quiz show format, On the Right Track.

Slovakia’s PBS channel Slovak Television and Radio (STVR) has licensed the format for a remake with the local title is Na Správnej Ceste with the first 16 episode run of season one set to launch on January 9th 2026.

On the Right Track or På Spåret in its native Swedish is an original idea from the in-house team at SVT where it is currently into its 36th season. The format, which has been keeping Swedish viewers glued to their TV's every Friday night since 1987, pits two celebrity teams against each other on three separate journeys filmed from the front of a train (or a car, or bus). Viewers have to try to identify the destination, using visual clues from the video, additional help from the host amidst the puns, word play and anecdotes. The house band gives extra clues by playing a mash-up of hits related to the destinations and the questions with the two most successful teams competing in the season finale. The format has also been a hit for Finland’s YLE, where it is now in its fourth season.

Filip Púchovský, Project PR Manager of STVR said: ‘STVR said: “In our version of this fantastic travel-entertainment competition, actor Ján Dobrík and traveller Martin Navrátil will accompany viewers and our competing guests on both familiar and unfamiliar journeys. The show’s unique rules, distinctive setting and live band give us the perfect blend of entertainment and knowledge that we know will delight audiences.”.’

Paulette Rosas Hott, Head of Sales at SVT said: "SVT is very pleased that the format On the right track/På spåret is being picked up by Slovak television. We hope and believe that our format, which has brought much joy to the Swedish audience for over three decades, will continue to find its audience beyond Sweden's borders". Andreas Uppman Nilsson, Series Producer at SVT added: "Incredibly exciting that Slovakia now gets its own version of 'På Spåret'. A show that, in a fun and exciting way, takes viewers on a journey around the world while allowing them to compete with the contestants in the studio".

Emma Gosling, Primitives Sales & Acquisitions who brokered the deal said: "On the Right Track has long been a stalwart of Swedish television, bringing audiences together each week, just as it has more recently on Finland’s YLE, where it is now in its fourth season. We hope its success continues in Slovakia, as the show has all the hallmarks of a strong and fast-growing format."

This latest deal caps a standout year for Primitives. TV-trends agency The WIT recently ranked the company among the world’s top-10 format distributors—marking the first time an independent distributor has entered the global formats super-league. The company also announced that Simone de Pruyssenaere de la Woestyne will become its new managing director on 1 January 2026.
